Position Information:


Rotation/Shifts:

Days, 8 hour shifts.


What you will do:


  • Develop and implement tools and job aids for use by the Benefits and Pension team;
  • Develop process guidelines, forms, and tools for use by clients (TOH Leaders) and the HR department;
  • Consistently review and maintain department tools, job aids, guidelines and processes, and recommends changes to improve process workflows and client satisfaction;
  • Provide recommendations, advice and guidance on process improvements through strong knowledge of HR systems, various software/platforms, Excel, etc;
  • Analyze tracked metrics to help identify opportunities for improvement and continuously evaluate progress of the teams Key Performance Metrics;
  • Develop enhanced reporting capabilities and HR Analytics, providing analytics and data on the benefits and pension programs;
  • Perform any special audits or other projects the leader determines are necessitated by special circumstances;
  • Provide stakeholders with guidance and support on departmental systems, processes, documentation, and resources;
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on the development of departmental initiatives, educating them on internal processes and making them aware of process improvement opportunities and risks;
  • Develop communications, documentation and/or training materials for team, senior management, and other departments as required (e.g., briefing note, presentations, job aids, etc.);
  • Assigns tasks, investigations, reporting to team members follow up on work as appropriate.

What you will bring:


  • 3year Community College diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent;
  • Three (3) years of experience in pension and benefits administration;
  • Knowledge of Federal & Provincial legislation around pension and benefits;
  • Experience working with unions and administering collective agreements;
  • Experience working in a highly unionized environment;
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel;
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Power Point;
  • Strong investigative and problemsolving skills;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to organize and compile large volumes of data for data trends, auditing and costings, as well as producing reports;
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion, initiative, tact and a high degree of confidentiality;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Strong organization and time management skills;
  • Strong Teamwork skills.

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) Certificate or Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute (CPBI) Certificate;
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Certificate.
