Description

The Supervisor, Sales Coordinator is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Sales Coordinator team whose focus is on the execution of key deliverables and various administrative activities in support of our largest most complex contractual customer agreements.

The Supervisor will be responsible for leading through implementation, talent management, change management and development of the team to ensure engagement as well as commitment to delivering an exceptional experience.

Supervisor will be responsible for direct management of a team of 8-10 Sales Coordinators. The leader role is the key to ensuring Sales Coordinator teams are delivering peak performance.

This is done by providing direct coaching to NEX team members and engaging with critical business partners to deliver and improve internal and external customer experience.

The Supervisor manufactures engagement from the entire team and ensures that the team can overcome obstacles.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Supervises the daily operations of a team of approx. 810 Sales Coordinators
  • Provides frequent, direct coaching and development to team members. Spends at least 60% of time working directly with team to guide development and performance
  • Prepare metrics that drive Sales Coordinator program adoption and utilization
  • Ability to determine scalable scope of work to ensure program success for long term growth
  • Reviews performance metrics, diagnoses root cause of individual underperformance and develops an improvement plan. Must have the ability to problem solve both simple and complex issues from team members and business partners
  • Plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates work flow of direct and functional teams. Coordinates work activities to achieve the volume expected to meet operational requirements
  • Responsible for selection/hiring; accountable for team member performance
  • Takes ownership of relevant Sales Coordinator internal business partner relationships including Sales, Contact Center, CLPM, Quotes, Cross Referencing, TPS, Transportation, Sourcing, Open Order Management, Ebusiness, EPRO, Reporting & Analytics, and Financial Services teams to ensure optimal cross functional operations
  • Drives employee engagement through direct interaction and support; celebrates team and individual success. Works to achieve increased employee engagement scores as reflected in previous internal surveys
  • Works with Sr. Manager to make recommendations for organizational improvements
  • Owns and manages through processes/projects, as applicable
  • Effectively develops team members to grow within role and position for advancement opportunities
  • Administer escalation management and finalize best business solution.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Position Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of Grainger experience
  • Minimum 12 years of supervisory experience
  • Prior experience of partnering with Grainger Sales team strongly preferred
  • Proven leadership experience and track record of coaching for individual performance improvement and talent development
  • Proven process improvement experience (analytics, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills) in order to drive results
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organization skills, employee development skills, and team building
  • Passion for supporting sales and team member development with an ability to energize others
  • Effective and influential communicator; comfortable interacting with customers and internal partners in a professional manner in person, via phone and via written communication
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to shifting demands and competing priorities
  • Ability to train and coach team members on processes, procedures, compliance and product knowledge
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and delegate tasks
  • Ability to influence team members to achieve individual and team objectives

Work Environment:


  • Limited travel may be required approximately 15% of the time

Impact:


  • Assists with driving sales growth and achieving revenue plans within assigned customer groups by allotting time to sellers to focus on Plan to Win, sales growth and overall customer strategy
  • Works within established company policies to assist in driving customer retention
  • Manages through discretionary judgment, sales & pricing programs and policies to give sellers time back to grow sales
  • Decisions related to Customer Specific Pricing (CSP)
  • Use of independent judgment to prioritize work to maximize program penetration
