Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement grants and agreements management processes of highvolume external research programs (e.g. provincial, federal, international) to ensure delivery of funding programs to researchers across campus.
  • Provide information and guidance to researchers on existing or potential large and/or collaborative funding opportunities within assigned areas or sectors of responsibility.
  • Design, review, and negotiate agreements and documents related to proposals and research collaborations. Identify and mitigate risk issues, articulate alternatives, and recommend solutions to McGill researchers.
  • Assess and obtain approval for internal resources to support collaborative projects.
  • Facilitate the postaward management process with external sponsors and internally at McGill. Work with the Awards Management team regarding postaward issues. As required, communicate with partners to ensure the proper management of awarded and committed funds.
  • As necessary, assume responsibility for planning, developing, editing, and disseminating project reports, presentations, and other project information and communications.
  • Provide activity and other special reports as well as analysis within the assigned areas or sectors of responsibility to the supervising Associate Director and/or the Senior Grants and Agreements Officer on a regular basis.
  • Assume other responsibilities or tasks related to the support of research activities by academic staff, as assigned by the Associate Director.

Other Qualifying Skills And/Or Abilities:

  • Five years of related experience (preferably at a large, researchintensive university).
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements.
  • Expert knowledge in provincial, federal, and/or international major funding opportunities and collaborative projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to work and achieve objectives within a complex policy and procedural framework.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal, French and English).
  • McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
  • The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # 4 on a scale of 04.

  • Bachelor's Degree 3 Years Related Experience /

Annual Salary:
(MPEX Grade 05) $69, $86, $104,150.00
