Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Service Worker I, in collaboration with the health care team, is responsible for maintaining a hygienic, well equipped, and safe patient care environment in the 3D medicine clinic but may be required to assist in other clinic areas as needed.

Duties include taking inventory, ordering, receiving, dispersing, and rotating medical/surgical supplies. The Service Worker also responds to requests for delivery of lab samples, equipment, supplies, and medications as needed.

The Service Worker cleans patient care areas, disinfects equipment, removes soiled linen and garbage, replenishes linen supplies, and transports or escorts patients in wheelchairs and stretchers.


Description:


As a Service Worker I, you may transport patients (clients, residents) and equipment to and from different units as well as distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units.

You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, patient charts, and clean patient care equipment. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Preferred Qualifications:

Recent service worker experience. Recent experience in ambulatory medicine.

Knowledge and experience with AHS policies and practices in Hand Hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment, Linen and Laundry handling, Waste Management, and approved cleaning practices and responsibilities.
