OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Environmental Department Manager, the
Environmental, Health & Safety
Student
is responsible for routine sample collection and laboratory analysis, inspections and technical reporting, and will provide administrative assistance to the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) department

Assignement period:
May 15, 2023 to September 1, 2023.**
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete daily representative sample collection
Prepare samples and complete inhouse laboratory analysis daily or manage 3rdparty confirmatory laboratory analysis under chain of custody
Prepare and distribute technical reports documenting laboratory analytical findings
Assist with the maintenance of sample collection, monitoring, and laboratory equipment
Conduct routine EHS site inspections
Prepare and distribute findings of EHS inspections and action items from Joint Environmental, Health and Safety Committee meetings
Complete data entry, manage documentation, conduct research and assist with communications
Assist with other EHS initiatives, as required

WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Enrolled in an educational program in Environmental Science, Food Science, Chemistry or Environmental or Chemical Engineering
Completed courses related to sampling and laboratory analysis

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

Operation of samplers and analyzers
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and SharePoint, in particular)
Ability to remain focused in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to periodically work evenings or weekends

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Work performed requires exposure to hazards typical to a manufacturing and laboratory environment, moderate periods of physical strain, and a high degree of ownership of tasks.
