About the Position
Our event chefs are integral to the functioning of Peake's culinary operations on events.

Responsible for creating our most _delicious moments_ and assist in the preparation of dishes for a variety of events, while interacting with clients and adjusting to keep them and their guests happy, well-fed, and comfortable.

Event chefs are expected to know and display the Peake Core Values.


Major Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of the lead event chef (Executive or Sous)
  • Ensures all food safety and hygiene guidelines are met and followed
  • Can work back or front of house in a variety of positions including but not limited to: buffets, carving stations, food stations, and kitchen lines
  • Ensures proper handling of food product in order to minimize waste
  • Keeps the immediate area and the event kitchen (if there is one) clean
  • Assists in the teardown of the event kitchen/production area, and loading the van
*Tasks outside of those outlined in the job description may be required during times of increased demand*
Education, skills and qualifications

  • Previous experience in similar catering or restaurant businesses with stable work history
  • Formal Culinary training at an accredited institution


  • FoodSafe Lvl

  • First Aid certification (a positive)
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene procedures (HACCP)
  • Professional demeanor and appearance

Ongoing Expectations and Physical/Mental Demands

  • This role will require lifting of supplies, equipment, and product
  • This position requires long periods of standing and moving
  • This role will require travel in and around the Greater Vancouver Area
  • Frequent tight deadlines and lastminute changes based on client needs
