Tired of working weekends? First Canadian Health Management Corporation is currently seeking a Pharmacy Student for our client, a multiple award-winning pharmacy in Winnipeg.

This is an exciting opportunity with the ideal workweek structure not typical in a pharmacy setting and service delivery with great purpose in the role.

The Pharmacy Student will have the opportunity to work in a unique distance-care setting, gaining experience in the delivery of care to underserviced populations.

This is a contract position from May to August, for a pharmacy student entering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of pharmacy studies, with preference for a student entering their 2nd year to return each summer session until graduation.

Responsibilities:


This entry level role is all about Team Support, Accountability, Potential and Purpose.

The responsibilities will include fulfilling and supporting the Pharmacy Team in all areas of
:


  • Providing care to patients, both at a distance and in person
  • Prescription dispensing and processing
  • Medication management services
  • Opportunities for patient outreach and education
  • Interprofessional collaboration with various teams in diverse healthcare settings
  • Opportunities for learning in specific areas of pharmacy (e.g., diabetes management, substanceuse disorder treatment, outpatient infectious disease management, longterm care)

Qualifications and Education:


  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
  • Awareness of Indigenous Culture and knowledge of the communities considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:


  • Excellent hours: 9am 5pm Monday to Friday
  • Intermittent lifting of less than 30lbs
  • Alternating sitting, walking and standing
  • Flexibility in schedule as needed for business purposes
