Tired of working weekends? First Canadian Health Management Corporation is currently seeking a Pharmacy Student for our client, a multiple award-winning pharmacy in Winnipeg.

The Pharmacy Student will have the opportunity to work in a unique distance-care setting, gaining experience in the delivery of care to underserviced populations.

This is a contract position from May to August, for a pharmacy student entering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of pharmacy studies, with preference for a student entering their 2nd year to return each summer session until graduation.

Responsibilities:

This entry level role is all about Team Support, Accountability, Potential and Purpose.

The responsibilities will include fulfilling and supporting the Pharmacy Team in all areas of:

Providing care to patients, both at a distance and in person
Prescription dispensing and processing
Medication management services
Opportunities for patient outreach and education
Interprofessional collaboration with various teams in diverse healthcare settings
Opportunities for learning in specific areas of pharmacy (e.g., diabetes management, substanceuse disorder treatment, outpatient infectious disease management, longterm care)

Qualifications and Education:

Good communication skills (both oral and written)
Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
Awareness of Indigenous Culture and knowledge of the communities considered an asset
Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Excellent hours: 9am 5pm Monday to Friday
Intermittent lifting of less than 30lbs
Alternating sitting, walking and standing
Flexibility in schedule as needed for business purposes
