Canadian Corporate Banking - AnalystJob Summary:
The role of the Analyst is to support Senior Relationship Managers (RM) in a number tasks ranging from pitch materials, maintaining internal client trackers, creating deal screening memos, keeping updated on the latest company earnings, KYC, etc.
The Analyst will work with multiple RMs covering different industries and benefit from getting exposure to a number of different sub-sectors.
Primary Accountabilities:
Coverage responsibilities
- Support Senior Relationship Managers (RMs) in deepening relationship with existing clients and helping with origination ideas.
- Collaborate and support Senior RMs with strategic client discussions and preparation of pitch books.
- Assist Senior RMs with planning and implementation of calling programs inline with business development strategy for each sector.
- Assist RMs by routinely reviewing existing accounts to identify new business opportunities.
- Routinely review news clips, quarterly investor calls, and industry trends for sectors covered.
- Preparation of Business Screening Memos, Deal Screening Committee Memos, and other reports necessary for a recommendation of new transactions.
- Work with appropriate internal teams to ensure new transactions are properly executed and closed while following established procedures and protocols.
- Ensure global facility revenues are tracked appropriately.
- Maintain Know Your Client (KYC) compliance for existing and new clients.
- Work with Senior RMs to prepare periodic deal pipelines, profit forecasts, etc.
- Track utilizations of all facilities and frequently review with Senior RMs for formulating client relationship strategy.
- Troubleshooting of any operational issues brought to Senior RMs attention.
- Coordinate with the product partners of MUFG to crosssell entire breadth of bank's products.
- Coordinate with PM team and Credit team with respect to renewals and new transactions.
- Coordinate internal reporting requirements for client base.
- Coordinate within global MUFG network to ensure seamless international banking service and products for Canadian clients.
Technical Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and credit skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficiency in external research platforms (Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, etc.)
- Strong analytical and relationship management skills
Experience & Abilities:
- 12 years' corporate banking experience who have a global perspective
Education & Training:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent degree
Working Conditions:
- WFH Split (Hybrid)
