**JOB SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Assistant will assist the dispensary team with the distribution of ward stock and narcotic/controlled drugs. As well, the incumbent will batch non sterile stocks. The Pharmacy Assistant executes the emptying of the pharmacy bins that are returned to the pharmacy daily. Other duties include organizing supplies on the pharmacy stock cart, processing "stat" requisitions, preparing inventory list of items and quantities needed, checking expiry dates and destroying expired supplies. The incumbent obtains and organizes narcotic sign off sheets and prepares quantities to be delivered to each nursing station. The Pharmacy Assistant measures, counts, pours, weighs and mixes all medications. In the robot dispensing area, the incumbent is responsible for packaging the medications to be dispensed by the robot along with operating the robot. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

**QUALIFICATIONS: - Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent required

- Qualify to write the Pharmacy Technician certification exam through a diploma program or on the job training program-**
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills-**
- Ability to work in an independent and cooperative manner-**- **Good attendance record
