PWO Canada is an automotive manufacturer that is located in Kitchener, Ontario. Main production is stamping, and MAG Welding.

We are currently looking for an experienced and skilled Tool and Die Maker with previous experience in manufacturing (automotive preferred) to join our team.

PURPOSE OF POSITION


The Supply Chain Associate is responsible for ensuring customer orders are met in a timely manner by coordinating work and internal services as prescribed by the Logistics Manager.

The position also ensures subcontracted parts are completed for shipping to customers.


NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Internal contacts include personnel in the Tooling, Production, Maintenance, Shipping and Receiving, and Quality departments. External contacts include suppliers, subcontractors and customers.

The position prepares the scheduling of shipments and coordinates the services of others, as well as goods in order to meet this schedule.

The incumbent is responsible for his/own work and monitors the work of others in order to ensure the schedule is met.

If production goals are not met, the Manager is advised and the schedule is reassessed. Decisions made by this position impact the department in the short and medium term.


QUALIFICATION

Education:
Post secondary education in related field such as Production Planning, supply chain & logistics and/or Materials Management preferred.


Knowledge and Skills:

The incumbent must have a basic understanding, or is willing to learn, of supply chain and logistics, value map stream, shipping procedures and materials management.

Organizational and coordination skills are essential. The position should have a good knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is an asset) and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Visio is an asset.


Communication Skills Strong oral communication skills are essential in order to interact with tooling, production, suppliers and customers. Strong written skills are needed in order to produce reports and for normal technical/ business communication.


Nature and Length of Experience:

At least one year of experience in a similar supply chain position or production planning in an automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inventory management: Analysis of all inventory levels and execution of best practices
  • Perform continuous improvement initiatives such as Value map stream, Kaizen, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Perform Warehouse management optimization analysis
  • Coordinate the Shipment and receiving process, including followup and resolution
  • Coordinate the driver's team when necessary
  • Managing and maintaining the SCM systems: including IT assessment and mitigating the risks
  • Perform cost reduction analysis for all necessary inventory items.
  • Performing and sending optimal releases for the supplies considering the impact on inventory levels
  • Performing Warehouse operations coordination: Physical flow and System ( manage WM module)
  • Other Supply chain duties as assigned.

Salary:
$19.00-$21.00 per hour
