The opportunity
Smythe LLP is looking for an energetic cloud bookkeeper to join our growing Bookkeeping Group. You will work directly with clients, Managers, and Partners to deliver bookkeeping services.

The position generally is a remote role but can be combined with the ability to work in our office in Vancouver.


Your day-to-day

  • Communicate with client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
  • Completing timely and accurate fullcycle bookkeeping services for clients
  • Preparing payroll for various clients
  • Calculating and entering WCB, GST, HST, PST, Payroll, and other compliance items
  • Processing and payment of vendor bills
  • Fixed asset schedule maintenance
  • Reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Managing and maintaining clients' records to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Tracking and completing all accounting tasks to deadlines
  • Comfortable setting up clients to be successful using cloudbased tools
  • Proactively suggest a way to improve client recordkeeping
  • Some administrative duties will be required

What we are looking for

  • An accounting certificate or diploma
  • Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel, and cloud accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization, focus and exceptional attention to detail, and strong followup skills

You will need to

  • Attend your primary office location at least two set core days a week and any additional days as needed for this role
  • Occasional extra hours and attendance at events outside the regular workweek
