Work Environment


The work environment includes colder temperatures, congested and high traffic areas, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and handcarts.

The associate may occasionally work in high and precarious places.


Essential Duties

  • Coach, lead and mentor of all warehouse employees (receivers, pickers, loaders, forklift reach drivers) to ensure compliance to best practices
  • Manage daytoday warehouse activities, including staff supervision, assign work considering available hours, skills sets and other resources to ensure operational schedules are met
  • Engage fellow associates by performing preshift meetings, addressing complaints, conflict resolution and providing fair and consistent feedback (with the assistance of their Manager or Human Resources as appropriate)
  • Maintaining a safe work environment to enforce health and safety policies and regulations in the workplace
  • Maintain and distribute weekly warehouse staff schedule
  • Overseeing the receiving of goods, putaway into pallet storage, as well as loading into trucks and shipment both physically and digitally via Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Proficiency using Warehouse Management System (Produce Pro software) and all sub menus
  • Liaise with internal departments such as Receiving, Processing, Transportation and Inventory Control to investigate and resolve operational and client issues
  • Responsible for the allocation and proper use of equipment such as RF guns, wearable computers, pallet jacks and forklifts
  • Ensures adequate resources are available such as skids, labels, empty boxes, orders supplies, etc. as required
  • Dock management and organization: pallet stacking, storage/racking optimization, MHE staged and charged in proper areas, housekeeping and cleanliness
  • Proactively investigate and resolves operational issues as they develop
  • Expedite facility maintenance and repair: doors, lighting, docks, power outages, printers, leaks/flooding
  • Facilitate direct resolution to MHE issues: appointments with repair technicians, preventative maintenance
  • Coordinate waste, corrugate and pallet pick ups with vendors
  • Participate with the managers in the hiring of skilled associates
  • Administrative abilities to handle paperwork, data entry, and other administrative tasks
  • Required to work overtime, if requested
  • Occasionally required to perform coverage for operator tasks such as: receiving, order picking, shipping, loading and forklift reach operations (putaway, replenishment)
  • Perform other duties as required

Basic Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D
  • License for Machine Handling Equipment (MHE): Forklift reach, power pallet jack, counterbalance
  • 35 years experience in a supervisory role
  • 35 years of warehouse experience in a Food/CPG Distribution, or Logistics environment
  • Strong computer skills, specifically MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledgeable and skilled using a warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Demonstrated strong leadership with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be a resourceful selfstarter with exceptional labour planning skills
  • Team player skills with demonstrated abilities to interact well with all levels of associates
  • Proven ability to encourage and motivate others in a positive manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Works well under pressure
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm to tasks at hand, and high energy level

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body, and walk
  • Lift and move cases of product up to 50lbs
  • Must have the ability to talk and hear; hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment

Schedule

  • 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday)
  • 7 AM start time (shift end time varying on business needs)

$27.00-$30.00 per hour
