Job Summary


Reporting to the Surveillance Shift Manager, Windsor Casino Limited, the Surveillance Operator is responsible for monitoring the activities of the gaming floor, to ensure compliance with AGCO requirements and to protect company assets.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitors the casino facilities by closed circuit television, ensuring compliance with AGCO requirements and Company assets
  • Responds to reports of irregularities, investigating occurrences, and resolving problems
  • Provides surveillance for Table and Slot drops, fills and credits, bank deposits and large cash transfers, slot repairs, jackpots, armored car pickup and delivery and card escorts
  • Monitors table games and slots to ensure game integrity
  • Monitors cash areas, cash transfers and cash and cheque transactions
  • Liaises with other departments, arranging for the reporting on special surveillance of employee and player problems
  • Monitors radio frequencies, investigating occurrences, communicating with other departments and assisting in problem resolution
  • Prepares written reports of all surveillance activities according to the Surveillance Department directives and policy
  • Works closely with police and other department heads in the gathering of evidence relative to police or Company matters.
  • Gives evidence in police trials or company tribunals as required.
  • Generates and distributes pictures of trespassed patrons and employees.
  • Responds to telephone inquiries, communicating information relative to gaming activities
  • Maintains knowledge of all departmental policies and procedures; the Internal Control Manual and cash transfer schedules, ensuring immediate recognition of and response to threats of criminal activity or noncompliance with procedure.
  • Through selfstudy, maintains a high level of proficiency in card counting and other defensive practices utilized to protect gaming revenues.
  • Maintains in the strictest confidence: any and all occurrences witnessed and/or viewed in the surveillance room, any and all conversation and/or discussions inside the Surveillance room and any positions or capabilities of surveillance equipment to unauthorized personnel
  • Maintains a daily log of incoming and outgoing telephone calls
  • Through a chain of command, both verbally and/or in written form, report all activities and occurrences to the Director/Manager of Surveillance
  • Prepares reports, files and other records, or reports according to Surveillance room policy and practices
  • Performs any and all other tasks which are assigned by Management
  • Upholds the highest Standard on internal and external customer service at all times

Qualifications

  • University degree in Criminology, college diploma in Law and Security or combination of education, training or experience that provides the knowledge deemed necessary by WCL
  • Knowledge of table games and cage procedures
  • Experience in Law Enforcement or Security
vision with or without corrective lenses

  • Absence of color or night blindness
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time at a monitor
  • To write reports and communicate effectively
  • Table games, finance, security or slot knowledge an asset
  • Must be able to work all shifts
  • Occasional medium lifting required
  • Ability to obtain a Gaming Employee License.
  • Must possess a good attendance record as stipulated in the Casino Windsor Non-Union Attendance Management policy. Applicants with more than 5 occurrences will not be considered.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
