About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Ward Clerk - Virtual Care will provide administrative and operational support to the patients presenting in the Emergency Department for virtual care and regular visits.

The Ward Clerk will work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support an efficient Emergency Department workflow using a Virtual Care medium.

This position will be located on-site.


Responsibilities will Include:


  • Facilitate patient checkin and movement throughout registration, consultation, and postappointment departure
  • Assist patients with registration using the VENS platform, while resolving any challenges encountered with intake forms
  • Support the transition of patient information throughout the Emergency Department, confirming all documentation has been processed accordingly
  • Communicate among ED staff members to ensure a streamlined process for patients
  • Act as a checkpoint for patients and medical personnel throughout the ED workflow
  • Escort patients to appropriate locations within the ED
  • Resolve or direct calls and inquiries to the appropriate personnel
  • Maintain work area and required supplies, including consultation spaces and electronic equipment
  • May be assigned other duties as required

About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Successful completion of recognized medical office administration or business program required
  • Successful completion of a recognized Medical Terminology course required
  • Experience with Meditech module(s) Admitting/Registration preferred
  • Experience with Order Entry EMR preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet)
  • Previous experience in a health care setting as asset
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required
  • Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively and effectively with others required
  • Ability and willingness to meet challenges and adapt to changing situations an asset
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered for this position

Hours:


  • Long Assignment, Full-Time position; 70 hours biweekly
  • Approximate twelve (12) month long assignment

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $21.90 Hourly
