Job Purpose


The Field Supervisor will provide supervision, oversight and direction to our Lethbridge region clients as assigned by the Director, Service Delivery.

The Field Supervisor will work closely with the Director and Regional Administrator to closely monitor the performance of front line staff assigned to client sites.


Shift
Work weeks are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend availability is required.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, guidance and coordination to front line staff
  • Follow up on issues related to short notice / emergency guard fills & replacements in conjunction with SOSC
  • Report incidents / issues that have the potential to affect the Company to the Regional Administrator while keeping the them informed (service failure, serious injury/event, critical security incident etc)
  • Ensure admin and pay submissions for guards are correct; investigate pay issues and correct any scheduling errors as required
  • Ensure site documentation is up to date (post orders, training records, etc)
  • Establish and update site SOPs as needed
  • Work with SOSC to identify temporary placement requirements for vacation or LOA
  • Ensure sufficiently trained spares are identified in the event replacement guards are required
  • Work with the Regional Administrator to help monitor the Lethbridge Casual List to ensure the right guard is placed in the right location at the right time
  • Support communication initiatives with front line staff such as the distribution of memos, newsflashes, etc.
  • Regular and frequent site visits and nonotice inspections to perform quality assurance inspections on frontline staff
  • Support the completion of performance evaluations for frontline staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Administrator

Education Requirements

  • Alberta Basic Security Guard Course (prerequisite)
  • Alberta Security Guard License (prerequisite)
  • A suitable combination of education and experience

Knowledge Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of Commissionaires Enterprise Management System (CEMS)
  • Advanced knowledge of Commissionaires business processes
  • Intermediate knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards Code and Alberta Human Rights Act
  • Ability to work comfortably in a team environment, multitask, and support concurrent requirements for different internal and external customers
  • Qualified to Commissionaires Supervisors Course (CSC) Level II

Skills/ Attributes Requirements

  • Display good decision making, problem solving and communication skills
  • High level of English fluency. Must possess strong oral/written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new computer programs quickly
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Basic leadership skills with demonstrated ability to form and maintain longterm positive working relationship with diverse stakeholders
  • Must be able to deal with difficult issues and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Manage and prioritize numerous tasks that are time sensitive

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

  • Work weeks are 40 hours per week, weekend availability is required.
  • Some adjustment in hours may be required to ensure proper interaction with all shift work staff
  • Local travel will be required. Site visits to be conducted using a marked Cormpany vehicle
  • Working conditions will include inside and outside work
