THE ROLE
We are actively looking for a Manager, Tax, to join our Tax Team, reporting to the Senior Director, Tax. The incumbent will be responsible for helping support tax compliance.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with custodian to manage Capital Markets tax recoveries.
  • Work with external advisors to prepare SLFI GST/HST and T2 tax returns.
  • Prepare T5s and T4A-NR slips.
  • Assess K1s and related source data to manage US tax compliance process.
  • Draft memoranda to support tax filing positions.
  • Liaise with Corporate Finance to remit tax and quarterly instalments to the tax authorities.
  • Research technical tax issues and summarize findings in memorandum.
  • Assist with daytoday delivery of tax projects and support tax deliverables using a variety of technologies and tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing tax processes.
  • Use technology to find solutions to improve processes.
  • Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years working at an accounting firm.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel VBA, Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Query).
  • Any experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) products or Alteryx would be an asset.
