    JOB OVERVIEW
  • Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and resultsdriven professional to join our team in the role of Project Leader.
  • Reporting to the Outage Section Manager, Work Control, this position is responsible to lead and administer the coordination and execution of assigned projects within different portfolios.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Support Work Control Team Leads (WCTL) with longer range window planning and readiness.
  • Support WCTLs in monitoring and management of select readiness requirements (Part Holds, and Engineering Holds).
  • Lead and/or support issue resolution meetings to address technical or schedule challenges.
  • Prepare, Maintain, & Communicate window readiness.
  • Forecast window conflicts via creation and stat using visual aids for low float windows, critical evolutions, or near critical path work.
  • Prepare & Maintain window progress Dashboard.
  • Maintain Risk register. Review and Monitor risks periodically to ensure actions are in place and on track.
  • Resolve and assist with resolution of issues and problems, as necessary to ensure that project deliverables are achieved as per plan, and that any changes to scope and schedule are managed and approved in line with process and procedure._
  • Manage and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders._
  • Perform Online and Outage risk assessments and identify risk management activities_. _This includes _part hold_ risk, engineering hold risk, and additional scheduling conflicts_._
  • Other Duties as Required_

EDUCATION

  • 4year university degree, Engineering, Science or Business; P. Eng. an asset; PMP an asset
    QUALIFICATIONS
  • We are looking for a seasoned Project Leader with the following qualifications and experience:
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
  • 6+ years of experience in project management, specifically, in developing project requirements and plans; preparing cost estimates; participating in contract bidding and award processes, managing projects and contracts in execution phase, and managing project closeout.
  • Experience within the Nuclear industry is a strong asset
  • Prior experience in managing conflicting priorities of scope, schedule, cost and quality.
  • Sound knowledge and familiarity with equipment and processes in Nuclear.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and the ability provide guidance.
  • Experience and knowledge of cost accounting and forecasting as it relates to project management.
  • Experience in managing projects of increasing complexity is considered a necessary requirement; project complexity would normally be defined by multiple-contract, multiple stakeholder projects with schedule constraints.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills and highly developed organizational skills.-
