Human Resources Coordinator


We have an immediate opening for a Human Resources Coordinator for a full-time, permanent position out of our head office in Burlington.

This role will be responsible for handling the day-to-day operations within the Human Resources team supporting all functional groups across the organization.

The incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities, including employee relations, claims management, recruitment and onboarding, HRIS oversight and benefit administration.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely records in HRIS (Workforce Now);
  • Administration of claims (WCB, short, and longterm disability) including all submission processes, interfacing with all relevant parties, modified duties and RTW programs;
  • Coordinate talent acquisition and recruitment processes for shorebased positions;
  • Administration of group benefits plan including enrollments, changes, training, and support for employees;
  • Conduct remote employee onboarding and orientations;
  • Work with employees and managers to address peoplerelated concerns; provide coaching and guidance to managers on performancerelated issues;
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture while being a champion of employee recognition and engagement;
  • Administration of LMS learning activities and annual deadline requirements;
  • Maintain records and provide various weekly/monthly metric reports for management;
  • Maintain personnel files ensuring audit compliance;
  • Oversee and manage employee service recognition program;
  • Suggest and participate in employee engagement initiatives to ensure a high level of employee morale and motivation;
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide recommended corrective action if necessary;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Competencies Required:

  • Post Secondary education in Human Resources, Business or related field combined with post-secondary certificate in Human Resources is preferred;
  • CHRP designation or working towards designation is an asset;
  • 25 years of experience in HR role with preference to WSIB claims management experience in an industrialized environment;
  • Proficiency in HRIS (WFN) and LMS software considered to be an asset;
  • Ability to work remotely as well as Head Office;
  • Strong customer service mindset with sense of urgency to meet needs of all stakeholders;
  • Confidently skilled in building effective relationships within all levels of management and employees;
  • Versed with Canadian Federal employment legislation and labour laws;
  • Experience assisting with fullcycle recruitment an asset;
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Selfmotivated, high energy and the integrity to deal with confidential matters;
  • Excellent MS Office skills with strong MS Excel, Sharepoint;

Working Conditions/Special Notes:


  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work model.
  • This role may require support outside normal business hours for emergencies when business requirements dictate;
