The John Noble Home (JNH) is a "Class A" facility and has a proud and long-standing care-giving tradition, dating back to 1881.

Today, we offer several different quality programs devoted to senior housing, care, and services that operate within our care campus.

All meet and serve the needs of both Brant County and the City of Brantford and their respective constituents as we are a municipally operated and governed facility.

The John Noble Home consists of 156 long term care beds with planned expansion, a community-based day & stay program and senior's apartments.

The Human Resources Associate (HR Associate) supports and embraces our vision, mission and values of the John Noble Home. As a key member of our leadership team, reporting to the Administrator, the HR Associate facilitates all Human Resources functions as well as provide support and assistance with labour and employee relations, health and safety, training and education and data management. The keys to success in this role are the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities independently, build solid relationships, possess strong HR knowledge and interpersonal skills, and produce accurate work in a timely manner.


The HR Associate will have demonstrated ability to develop strategic objectives, in-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices with the ability to make sound decisions and evidence-based recommendations.

The HR Associate will have the ability to build and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels and will possess superior analytical and critical thinking skills.

The HR Associate will have strong computing skills, with the ability to present HR updates and information effectively to senior leaders and our Committee of Management.


Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates recruitment and onboarding of new staff
  • Maintains and updates orientation schedules and communicates accordingly
  • Attends to all aspects of team member recruitment including job postings and/or job advertising; assist with job interviews, testing and selection of employees; prepare and distribute acceptance/ rejection letters. Conducts reference checks.
  • Manage all Short Term and Long-Term Disability claims
  • Monitor the usage of employee benefits program for cost containment and return to work strategies.
  • Facilitates WSIB management strategies with the leadership team
  • Leads the WSIB and Disability Management program
  • Submits claims, completes form 7, liaises with WSIB and works with the leadership team expediting modified return to work processes and assistance with complex disability claims
  • Assists with workplace investigations and conflict resolutions
  • Submits reports to governing authorities including Ministry of Labour. Understands various governance structures, including Governance Bylaws and Policies
  • Maintains attendance management program and initiates first steps of any staff entering the program
  • Maintains Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Participates in Collective Bargaining and grievance procedures with SEIU, ONA and IUOE unions
  • Assists with reviewing and updating Job descriptions

SALARY RANGE:
$74,724 - $78,507 per year (based on a 37 1⁄2 hour work week) plus comprehensive healthcare/dental benefits and OMERS pension.
