Department Information:


The mandate of the Department of Justice is to administer justice, including policing, community justice, victims services and corrections in the Northwest Territories.

This mandate will be carried out in a manner which respects community and indigenous values and encourages communities to assume increasing responsibilities.


Job Information:


Reporting to the Director, Legislation Division, the Technician provides support services to French Legislative Counsel and Legal Translators, the Director and Legislative Counsel.

The Technician coordinates the distribution of translation files according to the workload of French Legislative Counsel and Legal Translators, prepares consolidations for new and amending regulations and statutory instruments, and prepares the cumulative tables for the _Northwest Territories Gazette _pertaining to regulations and statutory instruments.

The Technician will perform a variety of functions best performed by a person who works in both English and French.


Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by a post secondary degree or certificate in a Social Science related field and two (2) years of experience in a bilingual French-English office environment, including extensive experience using a word processing program.
