ABOUT US
The Shoreline Power Group (SPG) is a Joint Venture of United Engineers & Constructors, Aecon and SNC-Lavalin. SPG will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project.

The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario.

The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) is a Joint Venture of Aecon, UECI and Framatome. SGRT will be executing the replacement steam generators.

These projects are part of Bruce Power's Life Extension Program which will allow Bruce Power's CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.

The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, feeders, and steam generators, as well as construction management and trade labour.


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION


The Human Performance (Hu) Coordinator will report to the Hu Lead and will be responsible for implementing and actively monitoring and reporting on the projects Hu and Safety performance.

The Hu Coordinator works together with the Hu and Safety teams, Project Directors, Construction Manager and Supervisors to continuously improve human performance related to safety and quality of work.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface with project teams and the client to ensure alignment and continued engagement of the Human Performance Program.
  • Collect data and prepare reports.
  • Maintain dashboards on Project EHS and Hu Performance.
  • Trend and report on Human Performance data from behaviour observations, Event Free Day Resets and event investigations and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assist EHS, Hu and HP/RP departments with updates to documentation.
  • Ensure weekly EHS communication is developed and distributed.
  • Assist HP/RP department with administrative processes and paperwork.
  • Lead by example as a Hu advocate and engage the Project teams with improvement initiatives to promote a continuous improvement culture.
  • Hu Coordinator will be expected to foster a learning culture that promotes working in partnership, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Proactively identify improvements for team processes and tools.
  • Take a consultative approach, have an openness to learn and change and work closely with the team and EHS to continuously improve the Hu Program and our ability to effectively support operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Previous experience in construction and or industrial environment.
  • Strong time management and work prioritizing skills.
  • Understanding of data analysis and trending techniques.
  • Experience with incident investigations is an asset.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry considered an asset.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Power BI.
  • Ability to quickly establish a credible relationship and interact effectively with the full spectrum of staff from skilled trades to senior management.
  • Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and follow through to implementation.
  • Classroom presentation/facilitation skills including classroom and practical instructional abilities.
