    JOB TITLE:

    PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR, PROJECT MANAGEMENT UNIT BEACON UTILITY CONTRACTORS LIMITED Beacon Utility Contractors Limited was established in 1997, providing electrical and communication utility construction services for business and municipalities across Southern Ontario.

    Specializing in municipal and highway lighting, traffic signal installation and maintenance, high voltage installation and maintenance, electrical construction services and communications construction services.

    PROJECT MANAGEMENT JOB OVERVIEW:
    This position will provide support to the Project Management Team


    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Administration and maintenance of New Contracts – (WSIB Clearance, Form 1000, Certificate of Insurance, Notice of Project, Fair Wage Policy, Labour & Materials & Performance Bond, H&S Policy, New Contracts, Beacon Sub-Contract Agreements)
    • Working closely with Project Managers/Project Coordinators
    • Mail or email completed invoices to customers, (Accounts Payable, in particular)
    • Maintain contractor contact database including in JONAS
    • Compile end-of-contract documents
    • Maintain contract files
    • Arrange for paid duty police
    • Previous experience invoicing is an asset
    • Accounting background is an asset Locates / Permits / Inspections
    • Call for new public locates
    • Follow up daily on outstanding locates
    • Arrange site meets with locators/inspectors when necessary
    • Arrange for private locators when applicable
    • Refresh locates on regular basis prior to expiration
    • Maintain updated files
    • Provide hard copies to Project Managers/Coordinators
    • Call in for ESA permits/inspections (Electrical Safety Authority)
    • Apply for permits e.g., Road Cut Permits, RODARs, etc.
    • Request Traffic Control Plans from Beacon's Health & Safety Coordinator QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES
    • Energetic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, team focused
    • Familiar with Word, Excel and Outlook, with an aptitude to learn standard firm software
    • Strong organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills
    • Multi-tasking ability with attention to detail, reliable, able to manage priorities and meet deadlines
    • Comfortable speaking with clients in person and over the phone
    • Experience in the Construction Industry a bonus
    • G-License with a sound understanding for geographical directions
