Detailed Overview:

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

Reporting to the Director, Food and Dietitian Strategies and Initiatives, and Dietitian Services, the Manager provides organizational planning, oversight and coordination for the implementation of quality improvement, strategies and initiative(s) of significant scope and complexity that may affect multiple sites of the organization and/or partner organizations.

When required, manages the day-to-day operations at the various site(s) including overseeing all staff and services, purchasing, menu planning and evaluation, production, assembly, distribution, storage, provides leadership and management of human, financial and material resources for patient/resident and retail food services and sanitation.

Ensures effective forecasting and utilization of resources and compliance with departmental commitments.


Using project management expertise leads and completes quality improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned by leading project activities to ensure project deliverables are on time and on budget.

Works collaboratively and inspires others to achieve goals and deliverables through facilitation, effective communication of project vision, and ensuring the culture is one in which individuals can thrive.

Liaises with operational leaders, staff, vendors, and other partners to ensure site(s) readiness and assists with the management of the change at the site(s) level.

Leads diverse project team(s) and coordinates related activities. Effectively manages project resources.

Communicates with user groups and all levels of staff and management on the scope and status of the project and acts as a resource.

Liaises with consultants and other external agencies, as needed. In addition, the Manager develops briefing papers, reports, and presentations ensuring the timely and effective implementation of decisions. Leads and participates on committees and working groups as required.

Develops goals and objectives for the portfolio and provides recommendations to the Director regarding strategic direction, new initiatives, business development, and partnership opportunities.


Promotes operations and service excellence and quality through the evaluation, improvement and enhancement of patient/ resident food service and meal distribution systems, retail food service operation including improvements to service and driving the increase of sales, equipment, information systems, processes and facilities; develops proposals for new or expanded services or redistribution of resources.
