COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER

LOCATION:
Yonge/Bloor

WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Provide life skills support to adults with physical disabilities to achieve their goals
  • Provide personal support services _(i.e., activities of daily living, lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, skin care, respiration, meals/drinks, general hygiene)_ to clients in their homes
  • Be part of the UNIFOR union

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:


  • A passion for providing exceptional personal support services to male clients
  • Ability to lift and transfer clients
  • Manages time in cooperation with clients to complete tasks
  • Ability to accept direction from client's regarding services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problemsolving, conflict resolution and judgment skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 computer skills (Outlook, Word)

Qualifications:


  • Post secondary degree/diploma in Developmental Service Worker (DSW) or Social Services Worker (SSW)
  • PSW certificate from an accredited Ministry of Health SchoolOr
  • Post secondary degree/diploma in other healthcare related field of study
  • Plus two (2) years' experience teaching daily living skills to adults with physical disabilities and augmentative communication requirements
  • PSW certificate from an accredited Ministry of Health School
  • Proof of First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Person)

WHAT HOURS YOU'LL WORK totaling 32 hours**:

  • Monday: 7:30 AM -3:30 PM
  • Tuesday: 7:30 AM 3:30 PM
  • Wednesday: OFF
  • Thursday: OFF
  • Friday: OFF
  • Saturday: 7:30AM 3:30PM
  • Sunday: 7:30AM 3:30PM
