Benson Cabinetry & Millwork is currently looking to fill the position of
Operations Assistant - Facility.
The purpose of this role is to facilitate the planning and functioning of general operations.

The skill set is varied, and the incumbent will work directly with and for the CEO, performing a variety of tasks as required.

This is an additional role, not a replacement.


Operations Assistant has some or all the following tasks. They must

  • Assist in new software implementation
  • Assist with data records management (project specific
- external)

  • Assist with records keeping, data management (internal)
  • Assist with travel planning as required
  • Records keep in all domains in an accurate and consistent fashion
  • Assist with contract management and logistics
  • Assist with safety management and logistics
  • Research and implement new methodologies for continuous improvement
  • Additional 'special project' work as required
  • Create community relationships, PR, social media, and branding presence
  • Create charitable projects, engagement, opportunities
  • Event planning & coordination (Assist)
  • Assist in modernizing all facets of people management, including participating in media, video training preparation & other tasks as required

Qualifying Requirements

  • Legally permitted to work in Canada
  • An undergraduate degree or college diploma in business administration or a related administrative services field is usually required.
  • Several years of experience at a professional level in business administration, finance or administrative services, HR or midsize business management are usually required.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector/cabinetry is an asset
  • Extensive computer use including the entire MS suite
  • Direct experience with legal documentation, creation, and implementation of policy
  • Direct experience in small business media management
  • Extensive ability to use cellular communication
  • Proven ability to track work in a meticulous fashion
  • Valid BC Driver's license
  • Ability to read and write fluently in English

Within the job the Operations Assistant Will

  • Exhibit and implement competence in internal and external customer relationship management
  • Analyze internal customer feedback data to determine whether workers are satisfied with company products and services
- _Address areas of improvement via a sustainable feedback loop as such_

  • Analyze data and developing effective strategies to reduce business costs and increase company profits.
  • Manage time and ordering effectively
  • Exhibit excellent coaching skills
  • Receive coaching and provide suggestions for training improvements
  • Manage priorities with the change in environments, staff, or production necessities
  • Be a team player with a good work ethic and exceptional communication skills
  • Coordinate with the appropriate staff for support
  • Review and communicate potential scope changes to all parties necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Actively delectate, or participate in the hiring & onboarding process for new staff
  • Champion and advocate for the safety committee, training, and related items
  • Assist the President where necessary
  • Other tasks as necessary and assigned
This is a full time, permanent position based out of Victoria, BC. There may be consideration for part time work.

This role is in part an office-based job in which a sit stand desk is provided. In the office, extensive computer work is necessary.

There is a necessity to interact with the manufacturing plant and foreman for up to 50% of the time, in which case steel-toed boots & PPE is mandatory.

There may be a requirement to pick up supplies, run miscellaneous errands and plan events, however factory 'work' is not required or expected.

It may be expected that this role conducts work in either location, in the factory or on the job site.

This will include job monitoring and coaching, in a sit/stand capacity.

Salary:
$50,000.00-$66,500.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
