Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Scale Operator to work at our depots across the lower mainland.

Reporting to the Depot Supervisor, this position will be responsible for operating the truck scales and producing scale tickets for truck drivers, along with various other administrative tasks.


What You'll Get To Do:


  • Generate scale tickets for loaded vehicles in accordance with established policy
  • Enter Purchase Orders, addresses, vehicle, customer, and other required information accurately
  • Prepare end of day reports, preauthorize credit cards and balance debit/credit purchases
  • Notify customers coming into the yard of safety hazards or yard policies where applicable
  • Communicate general product descriptions, availability, and location to customers upon request
  • Liaise with Loader Operator, Depot Supervisor, Dispatch, Marine Dispatch and Sales Team when necessary, regarding any Yard, Barge, Inventory or Customer concerns
  • Notify Dispatch of material unavailability or any issues regarding orders
  • Answer phones
  • Other duties as assigned
