Department summary
The Centre for Healthy Communities (CHC) in the School of Public Health works with our partners to address complex issues that impact community health, wellbeing, and sustainability.
We recognize that health and wellness are created outside of the health-care sector, so we work across sectors to focus on root causes, prevent illness and promote community health and equity.
We collaborate with government, municipalities, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, community members and other academics to provide timely, evidence-informed solutions to help communities achieve their healthiest potential.
We help our partners to mobilize their knowledge and share their healthy community-building experiences with others.Since the solutions for one community can be adapted to many, our work has both immediate and enduring impact on society.
