JOB OVERVIEW:


The Group Sales and Social Media Coordinator is involved in all aspects of the development and implementation of TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Thunder Bay's social media communication strategies, adhering to the Standard Operating Practices of Easton's Group of Hotels Inc.

Through the use of but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, etc.

and Hotel platforms and in collaboration with the Easton's Group of Hotels Social Media Coordinator, The Group Sales and Social Media Coordinator is responsible for all group sales and related events stemming from group sales, from lead generation to room blocks, meeting set up, catering coordination and post-stay guest satisfaction.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop, implement and measure external and internal Social Media based posts for TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Thunder Bay in coordination with Easton's Social media Coordinator,
  • Provide Guidance to ensure coordination and communication of messages/news to both internal and external audiences.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Social Media programs and communicate results back to business, on a monthly and Quarterly basis.
  • Provide hotel tours to group representatives, highlighting the features and facilities of the hotel.
  • Ensure full and prompt paperwork and data entry for all group business (group reservations, meetings and catering)
  • Provide reporting and data analysis weekly and monthly.
  • Coordinate with meeting attendees daily to ensure full success of meeting plans and delivery of experience.
  • Schedule, plan and coordinate with banquet staff to ensure set up, refreshes, take down efficiently completed.
  • Other Duties may be assigned as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

***Education:

  • Post secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related discipline is a plus.
  • Minimum of 12 years' business sales experience is preferred

Skills:


  • A clear understanding of the Culture, Tone and Communication Goals of TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Thunder Bay
  • Accuracy (spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.)
  • A clear understanding of post timing, placement, and effectiveness of messaging
  • Ability to analyze post timings for effective impact on engagement, and following
  • Ability to work on own to create posts for approval.
  • Be customer focused, and understand the target audience
  • Must be able to multitask when working within tight timelines
  • Be team oriented
  • Must work with ethics and integrity
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices.
  • Must have a firm understanding of all Social Media Platforms and their effectiveness to message
  • Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication with strong writing and editorial abilities.
  • Strong Social Media knowledge in the use of each social media platform and demonstrated success with Social Media tools such as Facebook, Instagram, and others.
  • Strong knowledge of Web Design, Canva and other similar software programs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, and ability to learn quickly other sales tools and programs.
  • Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality, with a high level of accuracy regarding information.
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external clients
  • The ability to work effectively with all levels of employees throughout the organization

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Flexibility to cover weekends and evenings when required due to meetings, certain groups.
  • Lifting or moving up to 10 lbs. may be required.
