We are looking for a tax advisor to join our accounting team.
Under the supervision of the Director, Financial Reporting, you will have the opportunity to work on stimulating multidisciplinary projects, exercising varied responsibilities in a constantly evolving environment as part of a passionate team.
You will be the company's point of contact for taxation and sales tax matters.We offer a flexible hybrid work model, allowing you to work from home and from our Laval office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tax research and analysis to answer questions from various departments regarding Canadian and U.S. taxation, offshore teleworking, transfer pricing, consumer taxes, corporate taxes, payroll deductions and taxable benefits.
- Ensure the preparation and submission of tax credits (research and development, training, ebusiness development, etc.).
- Provide tax advice and expertise during processes such as company mergers and acquisitions, the signing of major contracts, the establishment of a legal entity, transactions involving company capital, etc.
- Coordinate and supervise sales tax remittances and instalments for the various CIMA+ Group Inc. entities, oversee the preparation of tax slips and manage tax due diligence mandates.
- Prepare Canadian tax returns for the various entities of CIMA+ Group Inc. and supervise the preparation of U.S. tax returns.
- Maintain and develop relationships with external tax firms and professionals, and liaise with external auditors.
- Calculate and recognize provisions for current and deferred taxes.
- Participate in the continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in taxation, accounting or any other relevant field.
- A minimum of eight years' relevant experience.
- Command of Canadian tax laws and knowledge of U.S. tax laws.
- Knowledge and understanding of various tax issues.
- Proficiency in the use of Taxprep and Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written; Bilingual proficiency is a critical requirement for this role, as it ensures effective collaboration with our diverse set of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and crossfunctional teams nationwide.
