    The Manager of Events, reporting directly to the Director of Government and Community Relations, leads the development and execution of the College's event strategy, delivering impactful internally and externally focused events. Working closely with a cross-functional team from across the college, the Manager of Events will apply a strategic lens on all events, ensuring that all events maximize the opportunity to achieve the College's strategic objectives while ensuring the events are purposeful and fully embody the College's values.
    This role will apply strong event and project management principles to deliver a best-in-class experience for all involved. This role demands an individual who thrives in a leadership capacity with an ability to inspire and lead diverse teams. This is a key role in helping shape public perception and creating vibrant community engagement through strategic and creative event management.

    HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

    • Work with a strategic team of cross-college stakeholders to develop a consultation/vetting process to ensure strategic alignment, awareness, and optimization of all event opportunities.
    • Ensure events are planned and executed in an efficient and proactive manner, engaging all respective college stakeholders in the process.
    • Develop internal strategy and operational documents including, but not limited to, business plans, annual budgets, and strategic plans.
    • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for college events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale events with up to 2000 attendees, including virtual and/or hybrid events.
    • Develop event vision and experience for events, in conjunction with team, and distribute assignments.
    • Work collaboratively with college departments to determine appropriate timelines, resources, and staff assignments to fulfill event requirements.
    • Develop and manage event budgets, timelines and reporting.
    • Support external booking inquiries for rentals and in-kind sponsorship and provide consultation to external vendors.
    • Make sure that all insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are followed in conjunction with relevant departments and units.
    • Research and seek opportunities for improvements, new events, formats and technologies.
    • Provide guidance and promote best practices amongst various departments on their portfolio-specific events to ensure best practices and alignment with College standards.
    • Build organizational capacity for events by providing event resources and consultation across the College.
    • Build and maintain positive and effective relationships with cross-College teams, external partners, donors, sponsors and community organizations.
    • Responsible for the direct supervision and management of Event Coordinators and any other applicable team members.
    • Enhance divisional and organizational quality and effectiveness through the engagement of staff.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Related bachelor's degree
    • Certification in event management preferred.
    • Minimum 7 years of event planning experience.

    • Proven track record of managing large-scale, high-profile events and leading teams to deliver exceptional results.
    • Minimum of 2 years as a direct supervisor, team leader, and/or manager.
    • Advanced proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office suite.
    • Strong relationship-building, consultation and interpersonal skills, with a proven commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders at all levels within the institution.
    • Dedicated to creating a psychologically safe and inclusive work environment.
    SALARY: $87,095 - $108,899 annually reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
