Administrator, Human Resources & Safety - NWR Abbotsford


Based out of our Abbotsford, BC site, as the HR & Safety Administrator, your key role is to coordinate with plant management to provide full cycle recruitment including onboarding and offboarding activities.

You will also be responsible for providing general human resources and safety administrative support.

This is an on-site position which reports to the on-site Manager, People & Culture.


Responsibilities:


  • Full cycle recruitment including onboarding of new hires and orientations
  • Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with crossfunctional departments to deliver an exceptional firstday experience
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, transfers and departures, and auditing for accuracy and compliance
  • Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, social media, and referral programs, etc.
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/media/colleges, etc.
  • Promote the company's reputation and attractiveness as a good employment opportunity
  • Organize, participate in recruitment initiatives such as job fairs, advertising, networking, etc.
  • Work with the Manager, People & Culture and hiring managers to create and maintain job descriptions
  • Maintaining current HR files and employee data using the HRIS platform
  • Assisting the Manager, People & Culture with daytoday operations of the HR and safety functions and duties by providing human resources and safety administrative support
  • Coordinate and track all employee training related to Human Resources and updated/new company policies or procedures
  • Track all safety incidences, accidents etc.
  • Participate in JHSC meetings as secretary and track and follow up on all action items
  • Participate in social committee and assist with the planning of company events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management
  • Safety certification an asset
  • Working towards CHRP designation
  • 2+ years recruitment/HR experience preferred
  • Experience as a safety admin/coordinator an asset
  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing setting an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including effective listening skills
  • Reliable, confidential, and professional
  • Ability to multitask and handle large volumes of recruitment
  • Must have experience using an HRIS platform, Outlook and all MS Office tools
