JOB PURPOSE:


The Finance Manager is responsible for supporting McCain Foods Global Manufacturing Operations (GMO) with analysis relating to Total Delivered Cost (TDC - cost of production and logistics), Cost competitiveness analysis (Cost Curve), Budget and Capital spending management.

The Finance Manager will have strong business analysis, accounting, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to consolidating and analyzing financial and operational data, providing commentary on monthly and quarterly results, managing the capital request and review process, and overseeing the department budget.

This position will have regular interaction with other personnel in the corporate and regional finance groups, as well as individuals in GMO leadership team.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Drive global TDC reporting and analysis on a monthly basis vs. forecast by region, make valueadded insights, and prepare ad hoc analyses as requested.
  • Participate in quarterly regional financial reviews and drive quarterly cost analysis (TDC, cost components, inflation, commodities, and agriculture elements)
  • Perform global cost competitiveness analysis (cost curve) in partnership with internal and external functions, and make recommendations on cost reduction opportunities
  • Develop a capital expenditure database and propose KPIs (i.e., average return on investment, IRR%, savings matrix) to assess capital project spend globally.
  • Remain current with the latest Business Intelligence (BI) tools and reporting help develop digital/visual dashboard and scorecards for key TDC and GMO metrics.
  • Support the development of the product costing tool and maintenance of global costing policy.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with global costing (and inventory) policy.
  • Prepare monthly TDC reports for global management and GMO senior leadership.
  • Analyze these reports to identify cost trends by region and provide insights on regions with significant movements in TDC.
  • Consolidate regional TDC and inflation numbers on a quarterly basis.
  • Update annual cost curve and draw insights from internal and external benchmarking.
  • Report on and analyze current and historical capital expenditures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education:


  • Master's Degree in the field of Accounting, Finance.
  • Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office and Power BI.

Experience:


  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in financial analysis, financial planning, accounting, and/or manufacturing cost management is required.
  • Prior experience working with leadership teams, tight deadlines and demonstrated responsibility for accuracy and timeliness for work performed.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused, and concise manner.
  • Must manage responsibilities proactively.
  • Ability to analyze financial data quickly and make decisions based on findings.
  • Identify/implement process improvement.
  • Strong PC skills including MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
