Position Summary
:
Skilled Assembler Level - Temporary (6 Months)


Location:
Annacis Island, Delta, BC


Shift:
Monday to Thursday, 01:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Afternoon - 10 hour shift


Salary:
$20.00 per hour
+ Afternoon Shift Differential per hour

Reporting to:
Production Manager and Supervisor


Department:

  • Manufacturing

PURPOSE:

To produce by fabrication and assembly the Aqualoop and other manufactured products and components to establish standards. Work in a team atmosphere of continuous improvement.
To be a punctual self starter who strives for quality work and efficiency.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Worker is responsible for some or all of the following duties:

  • Fabricate, assemble and package Aqualoop and other products and components
  • Fabricate parts to 1/32" tolerance from shop drawings
  • Practice continuous improvement especially 5S daily
  • FRP lay up from moulds and repair of FRP parts and moulds
  • Small paint jobs and touch ups by brush and spray
  • Wire and connect small electrical components
  • Operate forklift
  • Participate in ongoing training
  • Available for overtime as requested
  • Continuous improvement of self
  • Contributes to culture of development/sustenance of Continuous Improvement and Lean philosophies
  • Respect for people with communication, consideration and cooperation
  • Execute responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards
  • Responsible for safety and ensuring best practices are followed
  • Define and align goals with departmental goals then ensure regular performance feedback is completed through formal performance reviews every twelve months

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Proven ability to organize and maintain work areas
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing preferred
  • Proficient in the use hand and stationary power tools
  • Ability to precisely shape, measure and cut a variety of materials including but not limited to FRP, Steel, Wood and Plastics
  • Forklift operator certification
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be willing and able to follow processes, procedures and/or instructions from supervisor
  • To be a punctual self starter who strives for quality work and efficiency
