President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Synergy North is a municipally-owned local power distribution company serving the communities of Kenora and Thunder Bay Ontario. Distributing electricity to approximately 50,0000 residential and 6,000 commercial customers in the region, Synergy North is the local, front-line customer service face of the province's electrical industry, with a mission to provide outstanding energy services in a safe, reliable, and trusted manner.

Reporting to the Board of Directors of Synergy North, the CEO will lead the regulated and affiliate non-regulated businesses within the organization. The primary responsibility of the CEO is to champion ongoing operational excellence, maintain adequate resources and capacity, and establish strong relationships with the communities served by Synergy North. Additionally, the CEO should have the ability to identify long-term goals and be sensitive to future trends in the energy transition and along with the Board of Directors and the senior leadership, lead strategic planning to ensure the utility is well-positioned for the future.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successfully directing and leading teams to achieve organizational objectives in a regulated environment. Motivated by organizational success, they are not egotistical and are excellent at sharing information with others, listening to differing perspectives, and skillfully building consensus while ensuring alignment across the organization.
