Job Description:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops and executes the strategic initiative to grow the Mining Practice in Canada
  • Recruits talent to grow the Practice
  • Mentors and develops the technical abilities of staff within the Practice
  • Participates in the AECOM Technical Practice Group
  • Develops effective relationships with key clients and successfully wins work to grow the Practice
  • Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in a large, complex project or several moderately sized projects with greater risk and complexity, and significant financial impact
  • Resolves complex issues
  • Provide direction to and mentoring to other technical staff in completing project tasks
  • Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs
  • Acts as primary point of contact with client and has full responsibility for project delivery
  • Competent to serve as EngineerofRecord on design and designbuild projects
  • May be responsible for Project teams that include 10 or more members often representing multiple business lines, working in remote locations and including a subcontractor(s)
  • Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project, focusing on the unique or controversial problems
  • Regularly develop and evaluate project plans
  • Provide advice and consultation to client on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations
  • Work with clients to provide longterm solutions
  • Project leadership in the areas of design, analysis, and construction on various Dams projects.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in in a relevant engineering discipline
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in the mining sector both open pit and underground.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering field
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in the mining field with an emphasis on materials handling, tailings management and mining infrastructure in Canada
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to build productive working relationships within AECOM and with project teams globally
  • Demonstrated experience in pursuing and winning opportunities in Canada with a strong reputation in the Canadian mining market.
  • Proven experience in leading and building multi discipline teams
  • PMP Designation
  • Interested and capable to take on Project Management duties (schedule and budget control, client contact, proposal writing etc.)
  • Ability to attract key staff within the Canadian Mining Market
  • Experience in client service, marketing and business development
