Laboratory Assistant, Trace Organics, Air and Gas Analysis (6 month casual position)


InnoTech Alberta has an opportunity for a Lab Assistant to work within our Chemical Testing team in the Monitoring, Analytics & Informatics Services Group, based in Vegreville, Alberta.

The term of this position is up to 6 months.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to:
Assisting in tasks related to the day-to-day operations of an Air Analysis laboratory,.
Adhering to prescribed Quality directives

The operation and maintenance of instrumentation used in determining the Air Quality of ambient air sampled from the Alberta Oilsands region.

Routine tasks required to maintain lab spaces and equipment for day-to-day operations
Sample Vessel preparation, cleaning, and certification.


Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
A minimum of a high school diploma
Self-starter capable to work independently as well as on a highly integrated team
Able to problem solve and pay exacting attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to lift up to 10 kg
Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated initiative
Ability to work in a high-performance team environment
Adaptable and flexible to fast paced and ever-changing environment
Computer knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Critical thinking ability
