Dining Room Supervisor
Department:
Food and Beverage
Reports to:
Food and Beverage Manager
Must be available days, evening, weekend and Holidays
Position Summary:
Directs dining room and coordinates
foodservice activities. Supervises and trains
employees, confers with food preparation and
other personnel to plan menus and related
activities. Estimate food and beverage costs
and requisitions or purchase supplies. May review financial transactions and monitor budget to ensure efficient operation and that expenditure stay within budget limitations.
Smart Serve Training Program Certificate is required.
Specific Duties
Ø Oversees dining room area. Supervises food and beverage service employees in accordance with operating policies.
Ø Responsible for maintaining records of personnel performance and bar and dining room costs.
Ø Works with food and beverage personnel with regard to food presentation and proper food handling procedures.
Ø Checks special even function sheets again room set-up and personnel scheduling.
Ø May schedule periodic food and beverage service employee meetings to ensure correct interpretation of policies and obtain feedback.
Ø Trains head servers, captains, bartenders and staff to handle the various type of food service.
Ø Handles patron complaints.
Ø Executes the general responsibilities necessary to minimize operating costs. Maintains a system of costs controls through purchasing and sales.
Ø Assists in the planning of menus with the Executive Chef for special parties.
Ø Establishes standards of performance such as amount of linen to be used in dining areas, sets labour cost goals and amounts of liquor to be served.
Ø Check on guest during breakfast and lunch to ensure guest satisfaction.
Ø Issues liquor to bar if needed,
Ø Can actively help in other areas if needed: Bar, Banquet etc,
Ø Respect all other employees.
Ø All other duties assigned by management.
Salary:
$16.30 per hour
