HR MANAGER - Fox Group Canada
**Position Overview

The HR Manager is responsible to partner with the HR Functional lead and the Operations business leaders within the assigned Territory to identify needs and determine effective Human Resources strategies, programs, and services to address them.


The HR Manager will be responsible for all Human Resource related matters within the Territory including recruitment, compensation practices, benefits, employee relations, succession planning/development, absence management, training and compliance to applicable laws and regulations for each of the countries/provinces within the Territory.


This position will be based in our Head Office and reports directly to the HR Director, with dotted line to the Territory V.P.

Canada.


Main Accountabilities:


Consultation/Partnership:
Consults with business leaders to identify needs, analyze metrics, and adjusts strategy in support of business objectives. Collaborates in the implementation of human resources tactics and programs.


Staffing:

Partners with the business leaders in the design, development, and execution of staffing strategies that ensure the attraction and selection of high potential talent and achieve appropriate staffing levels.


Talent Planning & Development:
Facilitates succession/bench planning sessions to identify future bench, gaps in talent base, and at-risk performers. Collaborates with business leaders on employee development needs and bench planning decisions. Assists leaders with development plans for key talent to improve readiness levels and further career progression.


Employee Advocacy:
Serves as an advocate on behalf of employees. Solicits and listens to employees' concerns and takes an active role in resolving problems. Provides information about benefits, compensation, training and other Human Resources programs and services.


Key Initiative Execution:
Analyzes Human Resources program activity/effectiveness, conducts additional research and analysis as needed, and prepares reports and makes presentations. Facilitates delivery of HR program content and training within territory and broader audiences, as appropriate.


Specific Responsibilities:


  • Implement (communicate, train) manage and ensure compliance with all HR related policies, programs, initiatives
  • Administrative processes: new hire approvals, addendums
  • Employee HRIS (BambooHR): training, data integrity, document completion and access
  • Employee on boarding/offboarding: new hire orientation process, exit interviews, termination checklist execution
  • Support new store openings/acquisition processes
  • Performance Management annual review process support, performance improvement plans
  • Employee Relations: conduct objective investigations, disciplinary actions, address concerns/issues, provide information, store management coaching/training, liaison with payroll on pay/benefit issues/resolutions
  • Succession planning support annual assessment process/development plans and promotion of career path & growth opportunities
  • Support employee analytics/reporting (turnover, staffing)
  • Health & Safety: protocols, compliance, training, JHSC
  • Absence management (LOAs/disability; WSIB)
  • Support company culture, recognition programs etc.
  • Mitigate legal exposure by ensuring compliance to all applicable laws and regulations in all areas of human resource management.
  • Carry out strategy and planning activities and develop strategies to meet immediate and longterm staff requirements
  • Develop and implement policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
  • Advise line managers in how to implement policies and procedures
  • Liaise with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety
  • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
  • Negotiate with staff on issues relating to pay and conditions, contracts and redundancy
  • Prepare staff handbooks, administer and maintain employee records
  • Interpret and advise on employment law
  • Deal with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures

Education, Skills, Knowledge

  • Postsecondary Degree/Diploma in Human Resources, Business Admin or related field
  • 5+ years of Human Resource generalist experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably in a global, retail /or diverse multiunit workforce (hourly, salaried)
  • Must be fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Indepth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Knowledge of country
