CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
Reporting to the Operations Manager, every Field Technician will need to possess a positive and passionate personality, with the natural ability to positively communicate with any of TechConnect's Customer's and Staff.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform safe installation and repair of digital equipment related to voice and data services: phone, internet & TV, while adhering to company standards, federal and provincial laws.
- Working with Coax Cable as well as Tip and Ring, and Security systems
- Solutionsbased selling recommending products & services to customers
- Maintains accurate system records and support documentation for all work orders
- Ensures work vehicle, test equipment and tools are maintained and in good working condition
- Promotes TechConnect and the client with providing exceptional customer service, positive and professional image
- A knack for problem solving and multitasking in a fast paced, timesensitive environment
- The ability to recognize one's mistakes and learn from them
- A commitment to teamwork and working in a fun and friendly atmosphere
- Complete all required documentation accurately and thoroughly
- Assist in the preparation of labeling, prepackaging, stocking and organizing equipment
- Maintain adequate stock levels of equipment, including ordering new equipment, pickup and delivery
- Maintain cleanliness of the company office, warehouse and surrounding area
- Assist in the development and implementation of new processes to improve workflow
- Assist in the field as required
- Other duties as required
- Protect company assets
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Previous field experience and/or education in the telecommunications/Cable TV industry
- Valid Canadian driver's license without any restrictions (Abstract required)
- Personal truck/van, no older than 10 years and good running order.
- Fluent in English, with demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills: fluency in other languages would be a bonus
- Ability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
- Approved PPE, job tools and equipment
- Ability to work solo or in a team environment with mínimal supervision
- Strong organization, prioritizing, time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to travel locally and beyond your Base of Operations
- Possess strong computer skills
- Previous experience in customer service and/or sales
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 70lbs
- Must be able to climb or work at heights in excess of 28'
- Must be able to work in various Canadian weather conditions in all seasons
- Must have appropriate vision to be able to safely identify various colour schemes
- Physically able to perform all aspects of the job including, but not limited to, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces and safely operating hand tools
Salary:
$34.00-$40.00 per hour
