Key position functions:

Process payroll and timekeeping activities and associated duties in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain high proficiency knowledge of payroll and timekeeping systems, and prevailing payroll/legislative practices.
Provide strong customer service focus to employees and management.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Human Resources colleagues, and other Department representatives as required (Finance, Operations, etc.).
Complete accurate and timely payroll processing, consistent with Company guidelines and legislative requirements.
Review time records for completeness and accuracy, compile information and enter into timekeeping system as required.
Liaise with third party payroll vendor(s) regarding service and troubleshooting issues.
Maintain updated payroll related information (rates, benefits, employee information, etc.).
Maintain a service oriented approach to working with management, colleagues and when responding to employee inquiries and concerns.
Assist with preparing new hire packages.
Assist with processing new hires and terminations.
Maintain employee files and information.
Complete project work as assigned.
Three years of payroll administration experience is preferred.
High School Diploma additional education and Canadian Payroll Association accreditation are assets.
Knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems experience with UKG is a strong asset.
Experience with hourly and salaried payroll processes is preferred.
Familiarity with benefit administration.
Excellent attention to detail & accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer focused.
Proven problem solving and decision making skills good judgment.
Well organized and selfmotivated.
Ability to work in a team environment.
