West Park Healthcare Centre helps patients get their lives back by providing specialized rehabilitative and complex care after a life‐altering illness or injury such as lung disease, amputation, stroke, and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.


West Park is building a new hospital and transforming its 27-acre site into an integrated campus of care, enabling the hospital to evolve its rehabilitative programs to meet Ontario's future healthcare needs.


Qualifications:


  • Secondary school diploma
  • Experience with cleaning and sterilization of different types of medical devices preferred
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English well; good mathematical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
  • Physical stamina
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Demonstrated initiative
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff throughout the organization and within a team
  • Ability to set priorities and deal with fluctuating workloads
  • Previous experience with patient and equipment transportation preferred
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • Knowledge of wheelchair repair preferred
  • Evidence of good performance history and attendance record
  • Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of

  • Should be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors

Accountabilities:


  • Ensures established infection control cleaning protocols are followed stringently
  • Opens and closes CSR at the beginning and end of each shift and when out of department
  • Documents work performed accurately to ensure proper rotation of cleaning schedule
  • Relives full time Mobility Aids Transporter when away from hospital (6 weeks annually)
  • Operates postage meter properly. Fills wheelchair and Rehab equipment requisitions promptly
  • Operates cart washer correctly and determine which wheelchairs are safe to go through this machine without damage. Takes apart chair before processing and reassembles correctly after
  • Work independently. Demonstrates ability to prioritize work efficiently with mínimal supervision. Displays flexibility in the scheduling of work in order to accommodate the patients' needs
