What you will do:

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Digital Learning, the Educational Technology Administrator (ETA) is responsible for the administration of educational technology including but not limited to tools used to collect and report on student feedback, the learning management system, and other institutional systems supported by Innovative Learning for Humber and Guelph-Humber


Administration includes:

day-to-day support, routine planning and deployment, the implementation of updates, troubleshooting issues and bugs, liaising with third-party vendors regarding updates and technical solutions, recommending, testing, and implementing relevant IL approved projects, creating, and maintaining relevant databases and datasets, and creating reports to institutional requirements.

The incumbent will act as backup for other Innovative Learning's Ed Tech System Administrators as needed. The ETA works closely with the LMS Administrator, the Banner team, and ITS to ensure systems remain in alignment.

The ETA provides tier-three support to the IL Support Centre at high-pressure periods by fulfilling tickets requesting admin updates to the LMS and other tools.

The ETA is responsible for keeping up with technology changes and researching, reviewing, and recommending new tools and processes.

The ETA is experienced at database creation and management and has a current working knowledge of various ed tech and related tech tools including but not limited to Blackboard Ultra, Blue Explorance, HTTP, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, MySQL, SASS and NodeJS, as well as the MS365 environment, PowerAutomate and related tools.


What you bring to the role:


Education:


Experience/Skill:


A minimum of two years of related, progressive experience in an education technology environment with evidence of effective project management.

Experience with the administration of surveys and/or a recognized LMS in a medium
- to large institution. Experience creating and maintaining databases using current authoring tools. Demonstrated capacity for establishing and maintaining good working relationships.


Skills in system administration, educational technology administration, database development and maintenance is required, along with solid capacity with HTTP, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, MySQL, SASS, NodeJS and other relevant tools.

Time management, project management, and strong communication skills are required; and experience in a large educational institution is helpful. Experience with Blue Explorance or a similar tool, and Blackboard Ultra or a similar LMS is preferred.

The successful incumbent will be a curiosity driven, technically adept, collaborative, experienced systems administrator.
