Victoria, BC Local Union 1598 is
seeking a Material Handler/Carpenter Apprentice for the Shawnigan Lake School Project.

Apprentices earn a percentage of the Journeyperson rate with established increases determined by completed work hours and schooling.

Must be in the Victoria area and have reliable transportation to get to site to qualify.

Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials in designated areas
Ensure accurate inventory counts and maintain inventory records
Prepare materials for production by retrieving and delivering them to the appropriate workstations
Assist in loading and unloading materials from trucks or other transportation vehicles
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks to move materials within the warehouse
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar role preferred
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Note:
Must have a vehicle and valid drivers license to qualify.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 1 month

Salary:
$26.40-$28.60 per hour
