Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Schedule and dispatch trucks with goal to book the timeliest service possible
  • Provide accurate directions for pickup and delivery services
  • Schedule and dispatch workers or vehicles to appropriate locations according to requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
  • Track shipments from pickup through delivery for accurate, uptodate information can be provided regarding any shipment
  • Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
  • Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.

Physical Demands and Equipment:


  • Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts more than 60 lbs up to 15% of the time.
  • CSA approved safety toed shoes required from the first day of this job. (Yearly safety shoe allowance)

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.e., shipping/receiving, scheduling, freight negotiations and regulatory requirements)
  • Experience with Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Previous dispatcher experience in a courier related role an asset.
