Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Dispatcher to join our team at our Winnipeg branch.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Schedule and dispatch trucks with goal to book the timeliest service possible
Provide accurate directions for pickup and delivery services
Schedule and dispatch workers or vehicles to appropriate locations according to requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
Track shipments from pickup through delivery for accurate, uptodate information can be provided regarding any shipment
Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.

Physical Demands and Equipment:

Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts more than 60 lbs up to 15% of the time.
CSA approved safety toed shoes required from the first day of this job. (Yearly safety shoe allowance)

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required
Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.e., shipping/receiving, scheduling, freight negotiations and regulatory requirements)
Experience with Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
Previous dispatcher experience in a courier related role an asset.
