BC Place is hiring a Global Partnerships Manager to join our team to help take our partnerships program to the next level and to assist in our business development initiatives related to FIFA World Cup 26.

You are an experienced experiential marketing, advertising, media or events sales professional.

Ideally with some sports and entertainment partnerships (sponsorship) experience, you are a salesperson who thrives when identifying and prospecting new business opportunities.


Reporting to the Senior Global Partnerships Manager and supporting the Director, Global Partnerships, you will play a critical role in BC Place's business development efforts with regards to partnerships.

The Manager is a relationship-driven professional, comfortable with focusing on the "hunter" role, yet capable of handling complex and nuanced discussions with clients.


ROLE SUMMARY:


While primarily focused on driving revenue developing new partnerships for one of Canada's most iconic sports and entertainment venues, the role will also support the Global Partnerships team as it markets, sells and executes the Host City commercial program for FIFA World Cup 26 in Vancouver.

The position will be accountable to measurable partnerships objectives, including both lead development and revenue generation.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Is the primary daytoday lead for partnership sales at BC Place with a focus on securing stadium partnerships and using collaborative effort with the venue's core tenants (including but not limited to Vancouver Whitecaps FC and BC Lions) to drive collective revenue and maximize the impact on guest experience.
  • Is the secondary sales resource, supporting the Director, Global Partnerships, for the FIFA World Cup 26 Vancouver host City commercial program.
  • Establish new corporate partnerships to meet annual revenue goals.
  • Effectively prospecting ("cold calling") local, regional and national companies for qualified sales leads and calling on executivelevel decisionmakers for new business opportunities.
  • Helps coach, mentor and inspire team members both within and outside the department to achieve results while fostering a supportive, collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Help identify underutilized and new assets and incorporates into strategy.
  • In collaboration with the Global Partnerships team, helps to identify new BC Place partnership inventory assets where appropriate.
  • Works with other departments, including Business Development & Event Sales to maximize efficiencies and to capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Continuously seeks to educate and build expertise regarding global partnership trends.
  • Meet with client partners (tenant teams, partners, etc.) on a regular basis to collaborate on joint partnership initiatives.
  • Comfortable with a storytelling sales approach, yet thrives in a fastpaced prospecting environment in order to develop, manage and be accountable for a robust and ongoing partnerships pipeline in key partnership categories/sectors.
  • Advises the Senior Manager and/or Director of issues that have come forward that may impact client relationships, business plans and budgets (e.g. market conditions, trends and challenges, goals, actions, and deliverables;).

WHAT YOU BRING:


  • Combined postsecondary education in marketing or business, you have a track record of 7 years' progressive sales, ideally in sports, entertainment and event sponsorship/partnerships;
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to articulate and simplify complex concepts into compelling proposals;
  • An understanding of sports sponsorship asset evaluation and valuation and how assets work together to create value and drive revenue as part of a holistic partnership.
  • Experience building relationships and securing partnerships with brand decisionmakers located outside of BC, specifically the Toronto, Ontario region.
  • Comfortable reaching out and coldcalling prospective partners to arrange initial needs analysis meetings that form the foundation for customized partnership proposal;
  • Experienced with high level and often complicated or nuanced client negotiations, necessary to balance the needs of the client and the needs of the facility.
  • Ease and knowledge of various presentation tools (including PowerPoint) would be a necessity, while graphic design experience would be considered an asset.
