Mon-Fri 6am-2pm

Sun-Thurs 2pm-10pm

Sun-Thurs 10pm-2am


Pay Rate:
$23.34/Hour


Position Summary:


Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the material handler conveyor system (MHCS) used to transport product through the warehouse.

Uses computer/inventory software to control and command conveyor equipment, OSR Shuttles, cranes and to detect and rectify faults. Responsible for inventory checks and accuracy, inventory error analysis and invoice rectification through electronic and physical inventory verification process. Sets up and inspects moving equipment, and may make minor repairs. Monitors throughput, operational reports and system diagnostics, while correcting system errors to ensure operational effectiveness.


Essential Functions:

  • Communicates daily with IC supervisor and maintenance department
  • Uses computer console and warehouse software systems to operate crane and conveyor systems.
  • Maintains overall system performance to include OSR/crane faults and conveyor jam recovery.
  • Maintains the accuracy of inventory and reconciles discrepancies. Tracks inventory when products are handled outside normal channels.
  • Ensures all aspects of inventory maintenance including cycle counting
  • Works closely with procurement to resolve product issues for other departments as appropriate.
  • Maintains appropriate work balance with receiving and production to ensure that cases are selected and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Works collaboratively with receiving and selection to ensure that the cases received/shipped per hour goal is achieved.
  • Performs distribution center transfers and supplier returns.
  • Government compliance manages inventory quality to meet IFS standards and local policies.
  • Quality Assurance monitors product quality, assists with product recalls and performs other duties to ensure compliance with GFS Quality Assurance and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations including selection process, shipping, receiving, and inventory cycle counts
  • Attention to detail, accuracy
  • Must be a selfstarter with the ability to prioritize work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to multitask and ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with customers, vendors, procurement, warehouse, and GFS departments, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English and interpret verbal and written instructions
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and be in good physical condition.
  • Must be able to work independently, manage autonomy
  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
  • Ability to operate various types of powered industrial vehicles, forklifts, and pallet crane forks
