This position is in Cargill's food ingredients and bio-industrial business, where we anticipate trends around taste, nutrition and safety to innovate and provide solutions to manufacturers, retailers and foodservice companies.
A Batcher positively leads a Team in both Personal Safety and Food Safety, ensuring their team members adhere to the Company's policies and regulations.
An Operator 2 is responsible for following the Refining Schedule, operating a variety of grinders, pumps, valves and other associated refining equipment which produce chocolate paste, including Quality checks to meet the specifications of products.
An Operator 2 is also required to enter Daily data entries into SAP and excel work sheets. In addition, holding Team members accountable for good housekeeping practices and accurate documentation.Principal Accountabilities:
- Follow all Food Safety (HACCP), GMP's, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental programs.
- Manually lift and dump ingredients (bags and/or blocks) into specified hoppers (up to 55 lbs).
- Measure ingredients and document amounts and lot #'s according to formulas.
- Maintain raw material inventory logs and reconcile daily.
- Empty garbage bins used in Batching department.
- Contact Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2 personnel in the event of any problems with the equipment.
- Clean work areas and equipment as assigned or scheduled.
- Must obtain a forklift license (internal training provided), and use pallet handling equipment to move product or ingredient materials as required.
- Maintain all production areas in a neat and clean condition.
- Properly account for any ingredient spills or scrap.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Batching Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2
Required:
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED; and three to five years' related food manufacturing experience and/or training is required.
- Must have keyboarding skills for data inputting.
- Previous Leadership role.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to work in various temperature environments.
- Able to lift 55 lbs
Preferred:
- Able to operate heavy equipment
- Forklift certified
- Able to perform maintenance trades including, lubrication, mechanical maintenance and hydraulic and pneumatic
