  • This role is a permanent fulltime position, primarily based in Mississauga (onsite)._

This position will be expected to work on the Morning shift for approximately 1-4 weeks as a part of on-the-job training and to understand the production operations and workflow.

Hours of work:
Sunday to Thursday 3:30pm to 12:00am

An Evening Shift premium of $1.50 per hour applies to all evening shift hours.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

The Sorter/Helper is responsible for handling the flow of production by assisting the various machining functions to ensure a smooth transition of complete work into the Assembly area.


  • Make sure that all work processed is complete and together
  • Organize and/or collect work from multiple points of production, interacting and communicating with all machining staff.
  • Check that all process requirements are met by reading plans and paperwork
  • Break down and/or build orders to get ready for assembly
  • Perform machining rolls as needed (using a horizontal boring machine / off feeding machine)
  • Use ERP (Crow's Nest) to find information and report completed tasks
  • Communicate with Leads and Managers about work flow shortages (missing, lost or damaged parts)
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform work safely in accordance with OHSA and company health and safety policies and practices

Requirements:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate
  • Excellent computer proficiency
  • Comprehensive understanding of various wood materials such as melamine, particleboard, plastic laminates, veneer and solids
  • Must be able to safely operate a horizontal boring machine or off feeding machine
  • Must be able to effectively read and interpret plans and paperwork
  • Must be able to safety operate a pump truck
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Must have excellent organization skills and an eye for detail
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • High school diploma or GED required
