Temporary Full-time - 40 hours per weekOne-year term, with the possibility, of an extension

We are currently recruiting for a temporary full-time Heavy Duty Technician for our Fleet Services department.
About this opportunity:
The Heavy-Duty Technician reports directly to the Lead of Fleet Services.
This position diagnoses, repairs and maintains mobile and stationary equipment owned by the City of Leduc to ensure proper equipment operation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain records of work performed on City equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on various pieces of equipment
- Clean and organize shop environment
- Provide guidance to apprentices and other co-workers on equipment diagnosis, repair and maintenance
- Source and order parts required to complete jobs
- Repair failures/faults on various pieces of equipment
- Maintain various pieces of equipment according to the manufacturer's preventative maintenance schedule
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in Heavy Equipment Technician Trade
- Possess or be able to possess a license to complete commercial vehicle inspections
- Class 3 driver's license with airbrake endorsement
- First Aid certification would be an asset
- Previous Municipal experience would be an asset
- Experience with the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment and small engines would be an asset
- Ability to operate/experience with a wide range of equipment used in a municipal setting
- Must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check at own expense
