The Opportunity


The Licensing Services Administrator will work closely with the Manager, Licensing to identify emerging trends in the supervision of new life and/or accident and sickness agents and develop courses of action based on identified trends.


This position permits a balanced hybrid model of work-from-home and in-office and is intended for students looking for a 4-month part-time contract period.

Estimated 20 hours per week.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify emerging trends in the supervision requirements of new life and/or accident and sickness insurance agents in accordance with governing legislation, Council Rules, policies, and department procedures, and work with the Manager of Licensing to develop courses of action based on identified trends.
  • Prepare both external and internal written communications as required.
  • Input all relevant data into the licensing system.
  • Document all pertinent telephone calls and meetings in licensee/applicant files on the licensing system.
  • Follow up on open and pending cases.
  • Prepare and present briefing materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with Licensing Assistant responsibilities as needed.
  • Liaise with other departments as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Licensing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative and/or customer service position.
  • Excellent word processing skills with a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
  • Good timemanagement skills with an ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with irate and difficult people.
